Mazhavil Manorama, the new Malayalam Television Channel Review

Mazhavil Manorama is the new channel from Manorama television to the audience of Kerala, after Manorama News. Mazhavil means rainbow in Malayalam, as the name suggests, the television channel is full of colors and energy which suits the tastes of youth, kids and middle aged men. It began its telecast last week. Its running successfully in Malayali’s drawing rooms. It would be a fact that it can arise to mainstream Malayalam channel list just by a few months after Asianet and Surya TV.
Some of the mindboggling programs in Mazhavil Manorama are Josco Indian Voice. It is a musical show in which new singers are given chance to prove their ability to the nation. Mr. Shankar Mahadevan, Mr. Srinivas and Mrs. Sujatha are the present judging panel members and some celebrities like Mohanlal, Mammotty etc would join then later. Mr. Steffan Dewasi is also another attraction of this show.
Veruthe alla bharya is another reality show in which husbands are supposed to do two tasks, field task and stage task. Judging panel members are ten other housewives, who will judge the skills of husband. The program is hosted by Mrs. Shwetha Menon and Miss. Aswathi. The show is telecasted twice daily at 2pm and 10pm.Kadhayile Rajakumari is a TV-serial, telecasted daily. Kishor ( Vanitha rakthnam, Amrutha TV fame) is playing the lead role.Marimayam is a comedy serial telecasted twice a day in Mazhavil Manorama. It is humor based film; Mrs. Manju Pillai plays the main role in this TV serial.Thani nadan is a cookery show, in which anchor Miss. Lakshmi goes through various places of India and Kerala, shows various new recipes.
The TV channel doesn't show any films in it. Some people may film it really odd. But it would surely show in near future.

  1. Please ask Mr. SreeKhantan Nair to cover worthwhile topics in samadooram. The Renjini show was a disaster. Now he is following it up with another one on men dressed as women. If he continues with such pedantic themes, switching to other channels is the only alternative. As is he cannot find any worthwhile themes for discussion.

  2. At present the most boring show is Samadooram. Even Sreekhantan nair's gestures are disgusting.

  4. Today I happened to see the programme "Parayathe Vayya" in the MM Channel. I was just stunned. The presenter seemed highly agitated against the recent rule by the Indian railways preventing alcohol comsumption or entry of persons after consuming alcohol to Trains and Rly Platforms. He went on to say that there are very noble men also who consume alcohol and such laws are an affront to such "noble men"! Will he himself allow one of such 'noble men, having consumed alcohol, into his own home? Then he said that the punishment meted out to Railwaymen found to indulge in such behaviour is much less in comparison to the punishment proposed for the publci in the recent law. Why cant these programme presenters, who claim to be the pillars of the Fourth estate, make a thorough study of the matter before they blurt out such baseless views? he probably is not aware of the Conduct Rules, which bars not only all Railwaymen, but all Govt servants, from being in an intoxicated state while on duty, and if found in such a state, are liable to punishment including dismissal from service apart from culpability under the civil laws. The presenter, I dont know whom he wanted to support so vehemently, the right of people to drink intoxicants(I am yet to find a Fundamental right to this effect in our constitution)or the liquor lobby, had also the audacity to suggest that alongwith men, women should also be checked to find out if they have consumed alcohol.
I thought Manorama, under whose umbrella, this Channel is established, stands for responsible journalism. I dont think the programmes such as this are examples of such responsible journalism.

    1. Hi
First of all, thank you for your comment.

I personally believe that strict laws against those people consuming alcohol in railways should be made. Many women and children travel in it.

About the show Parayathe Vayya in Mazhavil Manorama, I must say it happened really a bad thing. Even though I didn't watch the show, such comments should not be said by anchor. He or she should stand in such a way.

Sometimes it may be so that we should expect something more than this, far away from responsible journalism.

      Regards

  5. Veruthe alla bharya is an awesome show! ... samadooram is an entertaining show. what people need to know is that not all shows are for everyone. there are people who like it and people who don't like it.
Swetha is an awesome anchor! Rimi is trying her best but is annoying with her unnecessary comments and irrelevant jokes. I think manjupillai or sreekandan nair would've been better as an anchor.
